Speaker Announcement 2019: Christian Allen

This year we’re pleased to announced the involvement of Epic Games, and specifically Unreal Engine Evangelist Christian Allen! Christian will continue with the fantastic workshops and talks about the Unreal Engine.

Christian Allen is an experienced and BAFTA award winning AAA game designer and creative director. Prior to joining Epic Games as the Unreal Engine Evangelist for North America, Christian served as Lead Designer, Creative Director, and Design Director of several AAA game projects for Ubisoft, Red Storm Entertainment, Microsoft, Bungie, and Warner Bros. Games; as well as running his own indie development studio, Serellan LLC, which shipped multiple titles on console, PC, and VR.

Speaker Announcement 2018: Brian Chellgren

We are excited to announce an additional speaker for Vector 2018, Brian Chellgren! Brian will be presenting a talk entitled Intellectual Property for Game Developers.

Brian is a partner with the law firm of Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP. Located in the firm’s Lexington office, Brian is a member of the firm’s Corporate Services Department and Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. A registered patent attorney with degrees in molecular biology (B.S.) and biochemistry (Ph.D.), Brian is a published author in the biological sciences field. His practice covers all aspects of intellectual property law, including registration and enforcement of U.S. and international patent, trademark and copyright rights. Brian advises and assists clients with their trademark portfolios, including reviewing potential marks and selecting marks, protecting marks in the U.S. and around the world, and enforcing marks. Brian has prepared and prosecuted patents in a wide range of fields, including surfactants, nanoparticles, medical devices, sports equipment and computer systems. Brian also assists clients in the tabletop gaming, boutique consumer goods, life sciences, higher education and other fields with licensing and acquiring intellectual property and negotiating relationships with their contractual partners.

Brian’s talk, Intellectual Property for Game Developers focuses on giving developers an overview of the major types of intellectual property – patent, trademark, and copyright – with a focus on their relevance to the computer game industry.

Speaker Announcement 2017: Nigel Lowrie

This year we’re pleased to announce another Keynote speaker, Nigel Lowrie! Nigel will be joining us for Vector 2017 this year and we’re incredibly excited to announce his involvement in our conference.

Nigel Lowrie is a partner in boutique game label Devolver Digital and has worked with independent developers like Croteam (The Talos Principle), Dennaton (Hotline Miami), Dodge Roll (Enter the Gungeon), Free Lives (Broforce), and Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior 2). Prior to that he worked in advertising on such brands as 7-Eleven and Hot Pockets so you can see why he moved into video games.

Wrap-Up Video for Vector 2016

Vector ’16, a collaborative game development show put together with the folks from TechBase 10, the Richmond office of the Kentucky Innovation network, and EKU Gaming Institute. This is our thank you/wrap up video of our 2016 event. We were blown away by the attendance, the speakers, the students who showed off their games at the Showcase and every one of our sponsors.
